New Tournament Director
The history of the German Open Wheelchair Tennis would not have been the same without Beate Loddenkemper. After stepping in for the long time director Edwin Cornel, Beate has been for the last years the Tournament Director, hotel organizer, person-to-ask for all kind of questions and what we Germans call "die gute Seele" of this tournament, the one, who is connecting everyone and everything.
After these years of work and reaching her goal of getting the tournament upgraded to the ITF2 level, Beate will give up part of her former jobs. While Beate will still be the arround as "gute Seele" and still will be able to answer a lot of questions, we will have a new Tournament Director, who started his work as such already.
New head of the Tournament is Martin Melchior. Everyone, who has been participating in the German Open in 2016 or 2014 already knows Martin as local host of the BTTC Gruen-Weiss club and venue. We are very happy to have a new director who has been part of the tournament for years and can bring in both: "traditions" and new ideas.
We give a very big thanks to Beate for all the hours of work, all ideas and all the energy she put into the German Open and as big a welcome to Martin whom we wish all the best for his new job!
